The report on the investigation of the structural failure of MSC Napoli by the UK MAIB is available as a download in the download area. This is a very interesting report which, amongst other issues, cites commercial pressure as one of the reasons for the vessel’s loss and also highlighted the fact that the ship was having its trim and ballast adjusted whilst under pilotage on the Scheldt without the pilot being advised.
