Captain Alvaro Moreno Constantino graduated from the Chilean Naval Academy in 1984. He has been an active Panama Canal pilot since 1995.
In addition to his marine education, he also holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a Major in Labor Studies from the National Labor College (Maryland, USA).
He was elected president of the Panama Canal Pilots’ Association for two terms, from 2006 to 2007 and from 2018 to 2019, and vice president from 2020 to 2021. He was also elected as member of the Executive Committee of his Association for four consecutive terms, from 2010 to 2017.
Between 2006 and 2014, was the representative of Panama in the Fair Practices Committee of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).
Captain Moreno has been a member of the Executive Committee of IMPA since 2012.
